Hey, everyone!
I can't thank you enough for supporting The Last Ember: Hunted #1!
As I've stated before, this was our most funded and most backed campaign to date, and that's all thanks to all of you!
So, now that I've had a little time to process the campaign (even though I've yet to go to sleep!), here's what you can expect in the days and weeks ahead.
First, while 94.5% of pledges went through right away - which is great, thanks! - that still leaves the other 5.5% (17 backers) whose pledges errored in some way.
But that's okay, it happens (happened to me several times in the past few weeks!) It usually means your card on file wasn't up to date and can be fixed easily.
Just log in to Kickstarter and you'll likely see that big red banner at the top telling you to "Fix Payment." So you just go and update your account by changing to another card or retrying your payment if you've recently added funds to the card.
Please resolve those quickly so Kickstarter doesn't cancel your pledge!
If your pledge is canceled, I can't get you this book you backed!
As I'm sure you're familiar, Kickstarter funds are usually released within two weeks. So that means I should receive funds in between Christmas and New Year's.
During this time, aside from enjoying the holidays, I'll be finalizing the letterer of the book as I've decided to not letter it myself and hire someone whose work I admire.
After that, Federico and Andrea will finish the remaining pages of the book while the letterer puts the finishing touches on them.
At some point in the middle of all that, surveys will be going out. I am using BackerKit for the surveys, so I'll post an update with details on that process when they're ready to go out.
There will be an opportunity to answer some questions and purchase any add-ons you may have missed during the campaign via BackerKit.
Once the pages are completed, we have our printer waiting in the wings to receive the files, and that turnaround is about 2 weeks.
Packing and shipping out the books comes next, which I have tentatively scheduled for March lest some unforeseen delays arise. But we'll be trying to get them out sooner if possible.

Another Stretch Goal Unlocked!

Hey all,
I am happy to announce that we have unlocked the THIRD Stretch Goal, so all physical level backers will be getting a Signed Bookplate as well!
We're only 9 backers away from our next Stretch Goal for the Nathan Lueth print, and in the graphic above, I've revealed the 5th Stretch Goal if/when we hit 300 backers!
We'll see where things go from there.

MILESTONE PRINT
Back when we reached 150 backers, I unlocked a Milestone Bonus art print of Ember by Michael Watson of Short Fuse Media and Freestyle Komics. Well, now Lisa has colored that print:

Before I let you go, I just want to tell you about another great campaign going on right now, which is Mike Shea's MISKATONIC HIGH #9! Mike has done an amazing job serializing his series on Kickstarter and I've been a supporter myself, though I need to catch up too! If you like supernatural Lovecraft tales, monster battles and high school drama, you'll love this book!
Welcome back to Miskatonic High, the comic series about the students who take on H.P. Lovecraft-style monsters and their small-town high school...they're just not sure which is worse.
We're on season 2, but this is a standalone issue, so it's a great time to jump in! And don't worry, you don't need to know anything about H.P. Lovecraft to enjoy this series... or any of the high school classes you've long since forgotten either (I'm pretty sure sine and cosine was what we did in our yearbooks, right?).
In issue #9, foul-mouthed poltergeist Anton explores the Yellow King Inn and the ghost stories that are part of its legend. When some of the ghosts start talking to him, he'll be drawn into a mystery 80 years in the making and discover that some secrets refuse to stay buried.

Wow! So just a few hours after my last update, we've blown through those first two Stretch Goals and are well on our way to the 3rd!
And now we reveal the next two Stretch Goals! First...

Nathan Leuth recently wrapped up a really successful Kickstarter for Impure Blood Vol. 2 and was kind enough to do this print of Ember earlier this year! Here's a closer look:
When we unlock this, a high-res digital version will go to digital backers, and a physical version to physical backers of course.
Thank you to all the new backers that came in tonight! We are under 48 hours now, and we're already finishing strong! Hopefully we'll be able to unlock more cool stuff for you all!
