Six great indie comics to enjoy when we reach that Stretch Goal!

Speaking of great indie comics...

Brenton Lengel's latest issue of SNOW WHITE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE is crushing it! At nearly $20,000, the Ringo Award nominated story is a unique twist on the classic fairy tale mashing horror and fantasy in a beautiful package!

If you're just encountering it now, Snow White Zombie Apocalypse (SWZA to the cool kids) is a comic series created by Brenton Lengel. The story began as a play and has enjoyed multiple productions and incarnations since its NYC debut as part of the 2009 Estrogenius Festival. The first issue, drawn by Dark Horse Comics alumnus & Ringo Award-nominated Inker Hyeondo Park and colored by Jio Butler, was published by Scout Comics to widespread audience and critical acclaim, was rated one of the top 50 indie comics of 2019 and was nominated for TWO 2020 Ringo Awards along with titles from comics industry greats like Stan Sakai, Mariko Tamaki, David Pepose, Penny Arcade's Mike Krahulik & Jerry Holkins, Coleen Doran & Neil Gaiman!

There's plenty of zombie and fairytale media out there, but you have never seen anything like Snow White Zombie Apocalypse. This isn't just a survival/horror story - SWZA is an epic dark-fantasy romance that pulls as much from Bruce Lee and Joss Whedon as it does from J.R.R. Tolkien and George A. Romero.

Stretch Goals Are Here!
over 5 years ago – Fri, Dec 11, 2020 at 11:14:16 PM

Hey all!

I was trying to wait until we hit $5k to post these, but it's getting late and I wanted to get them out tonight, so I'm posting them early!

Thank you to everyone that participated in the poll, we had a lot of responses and while four of the options were all very close, it kind of panned out how I had expected, so without further ado...

As we unlock stretch goals, we'll reveal the next ones, keep it fun til the end!

So we're very close to those first two, and hopefully the excite you!

The upgraded cover stock will be a 100# gloss finish!

I'll list out the Digital Indie Bundle titles in the next update!

Tonight at 11pm Central, I will be joining Will Allred and others to countdown the FINAL HOUR of the CROSSOVER DIVISION #1campaign! Join us LIVE if you can!

CLICK THE IMAGE ABOVE OR HERE TO JOIN US ON FACEBOOK LIVE!

Before I get into today's campaign, I want to also give a shout out to Tyler Forest Martin for THE ANTAGONISTS hitting its funding goal today!

Now, onto another campaign you should check out! Zach Young and Vish Desai, two childhood friends who reunited over their love of comics and recently launched their first project DEEP THEORY: 1: ARDIPITHECUS, which has funded and they have already unlocked their first stretch goal!

Still Time!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Dec 10, 2020 at 09:19:54 PM

Hey, everyone!

The poll for Stretch Goals is going really nicely, thank you for all the participation! I'll reveal our first stretch goal tomorrow evening!

Tonight, though, I did want to remind you that IF you backed Like Father, Like Daughter #1-7 before it ended, there's STILL a chance to get that gorgeous crossover print featuring LFLD, Ember andCrossover Division

Chances are if you're reading this, you've already backed The Last Ember: Hunted, so if you also backed LFLD, all you have to do is go back Crossover Division before it ends tomorrow night!

These prints are SIGNED & NUMBERED by all three writers (myself, Kat and Will), either physically or digitally!

Speaking of Crossover Division...

My good buddy Will Allred has created this cool concept called CROSSOVER DIVISION that sees two bookworms as the only two people that can save the world from these "crossover events" where realities blur and fictional worlds of literature come to life!

When stories come to life and threaten to fracture reality beyond repair, only an English professor and a research librarian have the knowledge and smarts to save us all. Join Hank Wallace and Hector Ramirez in Crossover Division #1 as they repel fictional realities that crossover into reality.

Crossover Division #1 is a 48-page standard comic book with 2 Crossover Division stories. "At the Window" is 26 pages, and "No Place Like Home" is 8 pages. Crossover Division #1 has 2 alternate covers by Conor Hughes and Stéphane Roux. Other campaign exclusives include stickers, temporary tattoos, sketches, and even a handmade book.

Question About Stretch Goals!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Dec 10, 2020 at 08:45:37 AM

Hey, backers!

As you know, it's been a great week for the campaign, and again, that's all thanks to you!

I was talking with a group of peers earlier tonight about Stretch Goals and they suggested asking YOU what you'd like to see. So, I've put together this poll with some mocked up graphics for you to choose.

It's multiple choice and there's an "Other" option for you to enter your own ideas as well.

You DO have to be a BACKER to participate and I'll be messaging you all the link privately to do so.

Thank you for your feedback, it will really be helpful in these final days as we wind down!

The poll will be open until Friday, December 11th at 3pm Central Time!

In less than 7 HOURS, Andrew Guilde's FORGOTTON HYMNS comes to a close! It's full of mystery and the supernatural, and if you enjoy those elements mixed with Noir Crime and Lovecraft, you're gonna love this book!

Like most self-entitled corporate billionaires, the idea of owning up for wrong doings, especially crimes committed by their company, and dealing with the consequences, is utterly unthinkable.

Thus, when a scandal involving the company's founder, who happens to be her father, threatens to rock the corporation to its core, Lillian Richmond decides to do what most powerful people do when they're threated: she's going to cover it up.

However, in her haste, she inadvertently uncovers an ancient secret occult society that's responsible for her father's scandal, and her family's success.

As the truth about her family's past unfolds,  Lillian must make a choice: power, status, and a life of corruption; or lose everything, including her family's legacy, and deal with the consequences.

Over 200 Backers + More Live Streams!
over 5 years ago – Tue, Dec 08, 2020 at 08:16:53 PM

Hey, everyone!

What a day yesterday was! We had a nice turn out and boost to the campaign throughout the evening, which was really cool.

Welcome to all the new backers, thank you so much for taking a chance on The Last Ember and helping bring this project to life. It really means a lot to me that ALL of you are supporting this campaign and are interested in the book we're creating.

FINAL MILESTONE UNLOCKED!

We've reached and surpassed 201 backers, so we have unlocked the final Milestone Bonus!

I've added a New Reward Tier and New Add-On to get this Metal Print if you like!

The Add-On is $20, no additional shipping charges!

The Reward Tier is $77. I like to tie my Reward Tier names to movies, TV shows, lyrics, or just cool names in general. In this case, there was a movie called FIRE! that came out in 1977 starring Ernest Borgnine and Patty Duke. Nothing to do with Ember or her story whatsover, but it fit the naming convention, so there you go. :)

As I'm posting this, we are less than $100 from our main funding goal with 8 days to go! Again, thank you, you are all AMAZING!

More Live Streams

In less than an hour at 4pm Central Time today (Monday, Dec. 7th), I'll be joining Kat Calamia and Will Allred on Will's Facebook page for a Facebook LIVE talking about our respective Kickstarter projects and the last chance to get this crossover print by backing all three of our campaigns:

The Last Ember: Hunted #1 - embercomic.com/hunted

Crossover Division #1 - http://kck.st/3lpijgH

Like Father, Like Daughter #1-7 - http://kck.st/32JMnfN

Then tomorrow I'll be going live on My Facebook page and LEP's YouTube channel to usher in the FINAL WEEK of this campaign! That will be at 6pm Central, Tuesday, December 8th.

Speaking of Kat, LIKE FATHER, LIKE DAUGHTER #1-7 ends Wednesday morning, December 9th! So there's very little time to support it. She recently crossed the $8k threshold and has a cool alternate version of the crossover print with Michael Oeming that will unlock if she gets to $10k!

A father with superpowers, leaves his wife and daughter to become “Invulnerable” - the world’s only superhero. Ten years later his daughter discovers that she has inherited the very superpowers that made her father leave their family.

In our newest installment, Invulnerable has been kidnapped by the KGB - led by none other than Casey’s mother, Jessica Ryder. Casey never wanted to be like her father, but will Invulnerable’s kidnapping cause Casey to embrace her super heroic roots?

It’s the penultimate issue of our first arc, and we promise nothing will be the same following our finale!

Full disclosure, my wife colored that print by Oeming above, both versions, and I'm lettering the book! Kat is a great friend of mine and a talented creator. I'm very happy for her success and want to see her campaign keep growing until the final end Wednesday morning. So please consider checking it out:
