Ember is hunted by a serial killer, harassed by bullies, and nothing is as it seems in this brand new arc and direction in The Last Ember saga! Great jumping on point!

Milestone Revealed + AMA!

Hey, everyone!
I know Mondays can be rough, so let's close it out with some exciting news.
Before I get into that, though, a quick reminder that our Black Friday Specials end TONIGHT! So if you want one of those Virgin Variant covers as an add-on, you need to do that before Midnight Central Time!
Okay, onto the good news...
The New Milestone Bonus Is...
We are less than $200 away from hitting the next Milestone! And this is a big one as it's the most we've ever raised on a single campaign (by a dollar, but still!). So I'm excited and wanted to do something cool.
So when we hit this Milestone, all Physical backers will get this:
So cool, right? I saw their work on another campaign and just had to do something myself!
Now, I'm waiting to hear back if that image is a good choice for the metal printing, so there's a chance it will be a different image. I'll run it by you all if I need to change it!
But what about the digital backers? Ok, you'll also get a digital mini-print of a similar image, high-res!
And even better, I'll release it as an add-on for those that would also like an extra copy. If you're a digital backer and you would like one, message me and we'll work something out!
There you have it! Now let's reach the Milestone so we can unlock it!
In a similar vein, I have a cool idea for the next Milestone as well, so we'll see how that plays out!
Ask Me Anything Tonight!
I will be joining Will Allred and Kat Calamia for a special #AMA tonight on YouTube and Kat's Facebook page talking Kickstarter and beyond! Join us LIVE at 9pm ET if you can. You can watch it anytime below:
This one ends TOMORROW! This is by fellow Texan Ben Napier, Taylor king, Tom Hoskisson, JimmyG and Matt Krotzer. (I can call myself a Texan now that I've lived here for 6.5 years, right?)
it's called GL'URK & BO, and they describe it as "Pineapple Express meets Aliens." That put all kinds of images in your head! So if that blend of Sci-Fi, Horror and Comedy is up your alley, keep reading!
Gl’urk and Bo’s story unfolds in a universe not unlike our own, about 2000 years in the future, where our titular heroes are charged with piloting a cargo vessel that carries harvested mineral ore from the outer reaches of the solar system.
In the middle of a seemingly ordinary run, Gl’urk & Bo are awoken from Cryo-sleep prematurely, and begin to experience things that are a bit strange, even for outer space.
The Covers!

Hey, everyone!
Hope you're enjoying the day, maybe doing some online shopping or having leftovers like we're going to. Lisa's brother just got here for another game night session. On the docket are Lost Cities, Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, Machi Koro:Bright Lights, Big City and Spades. Gonna be fun!
THE COVERS
Anyhoo, I wanted to hop on here to share the full size Virgin Variant covers with you so you can get a better look at them. They are truly all gorgeous, and I am so fortunate to be working with such amazingly talented creators on this book!
So here we go...
Cover A-1 Virgin Variant
This is the main cover of the book by the series' incredibly talented art team of Federico Sabbatini and Andrea Celestini. We are still exploring options for this cover that might be revealed later in the campaign, and some that would incorporate this cover:
Cover A-2 Virgin Variant
This was all Federico's idea to do the two and somehow combine them. We've not been able to work it out logistically just yet, so for the first time in this campaign, we're offering a version of just this cover!
Cover B Virgin Variant
You may have seen the mini-print of this image last campaign. I loved it so much I had to make it a cover! Rudi was the first artist to ever work on The Last Ember, so this is also a bit of a tribute to him. And it features the glorious coloring of Savage Sasquanaut's Wes Hartman!
Cover C Virgin Variant
And last, but certainly not least, the Tiana variant by the super talented Francesco Tomaselli! I only told him I wanted Tiana to be the focal point, he came up with this wonderful concept and delivered!
You can't go wrong with ANY of these covers. But you COULD get ALL of them! :)
Check Update #11 for details on our current Black Friday Specials!
George O'Connor is a multi-faceted creator. He's the guy that composed the official theme song for The Last Ember available in this campaign! But he's also a prolific comic creator in his own right. He has a campaign running right now that ends on Monday called CHARLIE'S SPOT.
It's about a homeless vet who has a heart attack, and while he's in the hospital, his busking spot was occupied by someone else. This sends him on a magical adventure through the park taking him to some unexpected places.
It's a heartwarming tale not to be missed
Charlie Scott is a homeless veteran, estranged from his wife and daughter for years. He’s been panhandling and selling his paintings from the same city park spot for as long as anyone can remember.
After he suffers a heart attack, he returns to find his spot has become the center of a turf war between rival busking groups, all vying to control this perfectly placed location.
Desperate to get his spot back, Charlie sets out on an increasingly bizarre adventure through the city. Along the way, he discovers the real magic—literally and figuratively—of his city park and the people and performers that call it home.
I've also talked about SPECTRESS & SABANION in these updates before. That campaign ends in just 7 HOURS! Kurt has some really cool and unique rewards and just a cool book.
Black Friday Special + 150 Backers!

– Sat, Nov 28, 2020 at 09:09:07 PM
Hey, everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday (or wonderful Thursday if you don't celebrate)!
We had a low key gathering of the people in our household plus my wife's brother. Played some board games, took some naps, had some fun and great food! It was a good time!
We're so thankful we got to spend time with some of our loved ones as we know that's not the case for many this year.
Yesterday was also a really good day for the campaign, so Thank You to all the new backers that joined the adventure yesterday and today!
BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL!
Speaking of today, this is the long awaited, long anticipated (sometimes dreaded) Black Friday! So we thought we'd do a little something special and add a limited deal or 3 to the campaign!
We have two new limited Reward Tiers, and new limited Add-Ons!
First up, we have a new VIRGIN VARIANT tier where you can get all four covers without trade dress, logos and credits!
But if you don't want all 7, but you really like one or two of them, we've released All Four as limited add-ons!
And finally, we've added a limited upgraded LEP Crate that contains all 7 covers!
Remember, these are limited and end when the time limit runs out!
ANOTHER MILESTONE UNLOCKED!
Yesterday, we also passed 150 backers! So EVERYONE is getting the Ember print by Mike Watson and Lisa Moore either digitally or physically based on your tier!
We'll reveal the next milestone when we get closer to hitting it!
I LOVE THIS COMMUNITY!
I hope you've been enjoying these campaigns I've been sharing. One thing that excites me about the Kickstarter community is that word, "community." This is more than just a place to raise funds or sell pre-orders for your comic. It's really a community of people that support great projects or favorite creators, and I'm so happy and thankful to be a part of it!
With that said, I love shining the light on other campaigns, and this one happens to be by a friend of mine that has been super supportive of me in many ways. He's also a fantastic creator and someone who loves giving back to the community. I'm talking about James Powell who currently has HOUSE OF FEAR: THE QUICKSTARTER running through Monday!
The great thing about HOUSE OF FEAR is that it brings young readers into the world of horror in a fun way. Outside of Goosebumps, we don't see a lot of that, so it's really cool that James has found a passion in doing just that!
This time, our young heroes face off against spiders. Lots and lots of spiders!
In "The Infestation of Mr. Skinny Legs," Maeve is dreadfully scared of spiders. But when her younger brother is captured by the evil exterminator and his clutter of arachnids, she must overcome her fear to save him...and the world.
75% Funded, New Milestone Revealed!

– Sat, Nov 28, 2020 at 09:08:39 PM
Well, that was quick!
We just shot right past that first milestone, and now we're 75% funded!
So, I just wanted to, real quick, reveal what the next Milestone Bonus will be...
Ember, by Mike Watson (Hotshot), to be colored by Lisa Moore.
When we reach 150 backers, EVERYONE will get this print of Ember (digitally or physically) by Mike Watson of Freestyle Komics and Short Fuse Media! Mike is also the creator of Hotshot. He did this print for me on a live episode of Chat and Draw earlier this year.
Lisa will be coloring it as well, so I'll update the image once she does.
Black Friday
This Friday is Black Friday, and so we're going to be announcing a special new limited tier and add-on Friday morning that will run through Cyber Monday! So be on the lookout for that!
Ok, before I let you go enjoy your turkey and pumpkin pie, or whatever you feel like doing or consuming tonight, I'd like to tell you about one more campaign that's rocking it right now!
This campaign is from Squared Circle Comics and is about a wrestler, GANGREL THE VAMPIRE WARRIOR. I'm a lifelong wrestling fan, and I remember fondly the days of The Brood, led by Gangrel in WWE (then WWF) alongside Christian and Edge. Recently, Gangrel showed up in AEW for a one-off appearance, which was a lot of fun.
Anyway, Squared Circle Comics has been doing these great official wrestling comics for a while now, and they even have David Heath, aka Gangrel doing a video on the Kickstarter page!
So, if you are, like me, a huge wrestling fan, you're going to enjoy this one!
David Heath was a young man, marred by an early life of personal tragedy, who rose from the smoldering embers of misfortune to the pinnacle of professional wrestling stardom. From his humble beginnings in a backyard ring in South Florida to the grandest stage in the World -- Madison Square Garden -- Heath aroused the fears and captured the imaginations of wrestling fans around the globe as Gangrelthe Vampire Warrior.
Gangrel ran rampant in the World Wrestling Federation/WWE from 1998-2001, forming the vampiric Brood faction with Edge and Christian and then The New Brood with Matt and Jeff Hardy, before working in singles competition. The Vampire Warrior then went on to many years of matches on the independent circuit and a brief return to WWE in 2005 to take on The Undertaker in a handicap match in which he teamed with Viscera.

EDIT: Right after I sent this, I tested the image function and it's working now. Of course! lol So I've added images below now!
Hey, everyone!
The internet has been crazy today, and we've had some issues adding images to Kickstarter. I was trying to hold off on posting an update until I could do it properly, but now we're approaching nighttime, and tomorrow for me is Thanksgiving! So here we go...
I have finally posted Add-Ons to the campaign! If you're new to Kickstarter or haven't come across the new integrated feature yet, Kickstarter recently implemented Add-Ons in the pledge level/reward tier structure.

We're also still very close to the second milestone as well, only 7 backers away! Things are moving along nicely.
Comic Book Weekly
Last night, Kat and I did our weekly live show talking Top 5 comics of the week and so forth. Because it was just the two of us and a lighter week of comics and news, we did an impromptu Q&A throughout the show, and talked about both of our Kickstarters a bit. If you'd like to watch, you can do so below.
If you are entertained, we do this show every Tuesday night at 10pm ET and we'd love to interact with you in the live chat!
We've been doing some version of this show with other friends of ours for years. Right now it's mainly Kat, myself and our friend Mike from Comic Book Corner 2.0, where this show also airs. We have fun sharing our love of comics with the world.
I mentioned Shaun Keenan above. Well, he also currently has a Kickstarter campaign running that ends in just a few days. This one is for a new book called TALOS OF SPARTA and centers on a Spartan warrior taking on a monstrous army at the behest of a mystical priestess.
It's a great looking book with a gorgeous wraparound cover.
Join Talos as he set's out on an adventure to not only avenge his fathers death but to protect Sparta from an evil that will stop at nothing to see his country and it's people burn.
The Beast King is a Spartan myth, a legend nothing more than a tale to scare children and the lost traveler from venturing to far into the unknown region. Little did people know that while the first Spartans defeated this evil, Rome had kept it at bay for many years. When Rome fell to the power of Sparta this evil was left to grow and prosper, waiting for it's time to take revenge on Sparta and all those who oppose him.
To those in the States, tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I know in some places, gatherings are being limited. My hope is that you are able to spend time with some loved ones and remember what you have to be thankful for this holiday season. I know it's a tough one this year, but I hope you are staying strong and safe and can at the very least enjoy some relaxation!
It goes without saying, but I am extremely thankful for all of YOU! Your interest and praise of this book has really been humbling, and I can't thank you enough for that and how it has made myself and the rest of the team feel. We are so passionate about this book, so we're thrilled that you are excited by it too!
Okay, I know this has been a long update, so I will bid you farewell for now, but there will be more soon!
